Ferdinando Thayer was baptized on Apr 18, 1625 at Thornbury, Gloucestershire, England, son of Thomas Thayer and Margery Wheeler Thayer, He arrived in Boston on April 8, 1637 at the age of 12 aboard the "Blessing." He married, first, on Jan 14,1652/3 at Braintree, MA, Huldah Hayward.

Huldah Hayward Thayer was born 7 October 1636 in Stepney, London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Greater London, England. She came to New England with her parents, William Hayward and Margery Knight, and settled in Braintree, Massachusetts.

Mendon, Worcester County, Massachusetts

Ferdinando was one of the original settlers of Mendon, MA. (then an offshoot of Braintree, MA) in Sept. 1663. He and Hulda moved there after June 1665.

Children (by first marriage): Sarah Thayer Stevens, Jonathan Thayer, David Thayer, Naomi Thayer Cook, Thomas Thayer, Samuel Thayer, Isaac Thayer, Josiah Thayer, Ebenezer Thayer, Benjamin Thayer, and David Thayer. [ Ezekiel is descended from both Isaac and Josiah.]

Ferdinando married, second, after Sep 1690 but before June 1700, Anna, widow of Richard Freeburg.

Ferdinando died in Mendon on 28 March, 1713. He was possibly buried in the old Mendon Cemetery at the intersection of George St. and Main St..
